Just interested in some feedback. It`s interesting to me that Riley Cooper does not get any sort of punishment for his comments last fall, which he made public at a country concert, but Donald Sterling is banished from the NBA for a conversation that was illegally taped in private.
Everyone can agree he is a bigot idiot, but he is being punished for a way of thinking, no racist action was taken. Riley Cooper took it upon himself to address a group of people with a racial slur. What`s worse? |

is not a racist. His gf was not white. He has blacks playing for him and also employed by his organization. |

PSA..the NBA is a private organization & they`re dissociating themselves because his comments (Donald Sterling) hurt their brand, which embraces a multi-ethnic & diverse group of people. They used comments made public to come to a decision that`s within their power. The words "freedom of speech" have no place in this discussion because the US constitution does not apply here |

Donald hurt the brand, cooper hurt himself.
In FFX terms, that`s like if Tom said some idiot comments vs me saying some idiot comments. You can write off me being an a$$hole and continueign to play in this league. If those comments came from Tom you`re not gone feel the same way supporting his league. |

that`s a good point, the greater the position of power, the greater the responsibility, the greater the backlash |

However, | 1:45 PM |
if his track record was so bad and so well known, why did it take so long for the NBA to do something about it? Did his prior actions not hurt the NBA brand? In addition, why did Doc agree to come and work for him? |

He is a letigious man that fights everything in court. When he fires a coach, he ties up the money owed in court. The other issues like him being a slumlord have either settled without admitting guilt or he has won outright. Remember, he is worth over $2Billion and is a successful lawyer dating back to the 60`s. He ruins lives by money and wearing people down. Read Bomani Jones` article from 9 years ago. Enlightening. |

I respectfully ask why the NBA would run him out after the Elgin Baylor incident, when Elgin Baylor lost the case? In addtion, do you really believe that a smart man like D. Rivers was unaware of all of the past incidents before he signed with the Clippers and he was kept in the dark by his agent? |
