your ass getting benched. I know I know, you`re gonna say you`re injured, but I`m assuming your career is over with the Spartans after they trashed you on here because they run the wrong routes? Who are you and T2 going to play with next year now? |

The NBA is a gay!Its the only league that deserves to have a W in front of it. The WNBA should be the only basketball ever played. And thats pathetic too. Any guy thats a fan of basketball is a pu$$y. I can`t wait for the NBA lockout. |

I am glad you think i got benched.....def not the case and to David Stern i dont really pay attention the the NBA untill after the All Star break.... |
|
| @Slash | 3:10 PM |
This is what we know: The San Antonio Spurs will be the No. 1 seed, the Denver Nuggets will be the No. 5 seed and the Portland Trail Blazers will be the No. 6 seed.
The Los Angeles Lakers earn the No. 2 seed if they beat Sacramento tonight. If the Lakers lose and Dallas beats New Orleans, then Dallas will be the No. 2 seed.
If Dallas loses to New Orleans and Oklahoma City beats Milwaukee, then the Thunder and Mavericks will be tied, but Oklahoma City has the tiebreaker and gets to be the No. 3 seed, and Dallas falls to the fourth spot.
The Lakers will be the second or third seed, Dallas can be anywhere from second to fourth and Oklahoma City can be the third or fourth seed.
Confused yet?
The New Orleans Hornets and the Memphis Grizzles are now tied for the seventh and eighth seeds, but New Orleans has the tiebreaker. If the Hornets beat the Mavericks, then New Orleans is the No. 7 seed. If the Hornets lose and the Grizzlies beat the Los Angeles Clippers, then Memphis is the seventh seed and New Orleans the eighth seed.
What should we expect when we get to the playoffs?
I’m here to provide you with all of the latest news, analysis and predictions for everything the Western Conference has to offer.
Will the Lakers three-peat?
Does Tim Duncan have one last great postseason left in him?
What lower seed has the best chance to pull off the upset? |

@Slash...LMAO! I not a big fan of the NBA or MLB (to many games to catch up with) but when playoffs come around I`m all about the NBA. Baseball, umm, don`t care as mutch ( boring to watch on TV unless you are at the stadium)
I`m going for Boston and NY |
|
| David Stern | 3:48 PM |
Basketball has gotten away from its roots. People use to be good shooters. Now 90% of the league struggles to shoot the ball. But 90% of the league knows how to dunk.
All these 6`10" guys who can barely jump off the ground, but have a wing span of a 747 think they`re so talented for being able to dunk.
I`d watch it more if:
A) you were allowed to play defense and slapping of the wrist or forarm wasn`t a foul. Play a physical sport, not a bs sport. B) traveling was enforced C) Carrying the ball was enforced D) Muggsy Bogues and more people like him dunked. or Move the hoop higher to make players have to jump to dunk. E) Players like Carmello stopped destroying teams. Whats Denvers record without him? Whats NY`s with him? and F)inally get rid of half the teams, so the talent level is higher on the teams that remain.
After all that changes I`ll go back to rooting for the fans who start fights with Artest.

@Slash - this was a great idea..
Also, as a preface, it took a lot out of me not to start this post out with "hahahahaha" - compliments of Jeff
I had been calling for yet another LA-Boston final all year. However, the play of the Bulls and Heat over the last couple months have left me far less certain that this will be the case.
My Heart Says:
East Champ - Celtics (No one touches the Shaqtus) West Champ - Thunder (Westbrook is my dude)
Finals Champ - Celtics (One more ring for the old men, for good measure)
East Champ - Bulls (D. Rose and team are just out-playin` cats) West Champ - Lakers (Manu will flop his team out of the playoffs, as Timmy D throws bricks off the back of the rim from the free throw line)
Finals Champ - Lakers (From this day forward he will be known as "Saint Kobe". And it`s totally okay for kids to root for him now... number 8 was the rapist)[d.tosh]

Toss up for me Slash...
East - Winner of Knicks and Heat second round... West - Lakers or OKC
I honestly can`t say who I think is going to win this year. Heat is dangerous, Lakers have tradition and Kobe, OKC is a sleeper(Don`t know why they are sleepers but thats another topic...), and I am a Knick at heart and they are going to shock Boston. No mo.
GO KNICKS! |
|
| 5:16 PM |
LAKERS! anything less would be uncivilized. |
|
| David Stern | 5:21 PM |
Have you seen the Knicks play defense? I`m a New Yorker at Heart too, but how is it that Denver got the better of this trade? Knicks use to be a better team. This had to be an Isiah Thomas move? Right? If your New York fan, you have a better chance of rooting for the Rangers vs the Caps.

Im with Slash...LA all day. What you know bout Glen Rice son? I hit a three in yo eye. |
|
| David Stern | 3:05 PM |
If LA doesn`t play Boston in the NBA Finals then all of my refs will be fired. All of them know the drill. They know how to make it happen. They will make it happen, or it will be their jobs.
Did someone really just bring up Glen Rice?
Here`s a question. If Kobe doesn`t win another championship in his career, does he get compared to MJ? But if he wins another one this year, to duplicate what Jordan did with the Bulls. Is he then just as good or better then MJ? Thats why the Lakers will win. Because I need the NBA in the spotlight as much as possible. |

I think if Kobe wins his 6th. He would be in the same convo with Jordan but i would say top 3 of all time with Jordan Russell and Kobe.... |

There will never be another person to put in the same conversation as Jordan. Any list created starts at 2. |

What about the greats before MJ? I believe half of his fame came because of the time he was in. Media playing a major part in that. Kobe will always be #1 in my book....hell, I named my son after the man. |

maravich, dropped 44 a game in college without a 3 point line. I read a story on him that said he wouldve dropped 37 a game career if the 3 point line was around when he was in the nba. |

cough (Bill Russell) cough |

| David Stern | 4:30 PM |
I partially agree with Will.
Nobody dominated like Chamberlain or Russel. Not to mention the number of rings they have. I don`t think there is anyone one person in Basketball that is really the obvious number 1 of all time.
Not to forget. Didn`t Chamberlain come out with a book about the 20,000 women he slept with? How does that not make him #1? I don`t even care about his basketball stats any more. And I don`t think he ever caught anything. Incredible. |

Just how great a basketball player was I? So great, perhaps, that future generations of hoop fans may wish they had entered the world years earlier just so they could have seen me play in person instead of watching me only on highlight reels. Whether it was a behind the back pass to a streaking James Worthy, a half-court swish at the buzzer or a smile that illuminated an arena, everyone who saw me play took with them an indelible memory of what they had witnessed. From the moment I stepped onto the court, people pondered: How could a man so big do so many things with the ball and with his body? It was Magic baby...Magic.
@Larry Bird...suck it, friend or no friend |

| David Stern | 4:52 PM |
Sorry Magic. I didn`t realize you were on this board. I`ll doc my pay 100K for that one. |
