06/07 : Bootleggers shut out Helltown Rosebuds 16-0

Bootleggers improve to 1-0 in the postseason, while Helltown Rosebuds sit at 0-1.

This is the third time Bootleggers shutout an opponent this season. The victory gets Bootleggers back on the winning track after a loss in their last game.

This is the fewest points scored in a game this season by Helltown Rosebuds, and the first time Helltown Rosebuds failed to score against an opponent this season. Coupled with a loss in their previous game Helltown Rosebuds is now on a two game slide.

These teams have now squared off against each other 4 times. Their prior meeting was a Fairfax County Flag Football League "B" regular season game Apr 26 2011, 20:00, which Helltown Rosebuds won 12-3. Overall, the teams are an even 2-2 against each other.

Helltown QB was not there and they were out of sync from the get go. Boot got a sfety and scored on two long plays and that is about it.

Bootleggers and Helltown always play each other close. The Qb they had yesterday missed a couple throws by just a little. but it was enough to keep the offense out of sync.

Anyone on here talking crap wasn’t playing yesterday. We’ve played Hell Town several times and they beat us the last 2 times we met before last night. Not having their starting QB, was a huge loss for them. My hats off to them for the way they came out short players (on top of not having their starting QB) and fought us the whole game until the final whistle.

There’s a lot of mutual respect between our teams and we look forward to seeing you guys again in the Summer/Fall.

Both teams are horrible. Hope not to see you all ever.

Bootleggers would love to compete in A. We`re just not there yet. Hopefully we`ll be there soon enough, but no rushing it. We haven`t proven ourselves yet to go to A.
