Question ab9:10 PM

I have two questions.

1-Can a defensive player hit the ball (while in the quarter`s hand) when the quarterback is in the throwing motion? If this is a rule, one way or the other, does anyone know where it is located?

2-Can anyone tell me where it says in the rules that you can move the ball from one hash to the other, or to the middle of the field?

i will try and explain this the best way i can. Yes you hit the ball out of the QB hand as long as you dont make contact with the QB at all which is hard to do.

in our league where the stick is..is where you have to snap the ball. In states they mark the ball on the closest hash. On 2 pt plays you can ask the ref to move it to one hash or another.

Hope this helps.

how am i 12:37 PM

wrong i have had the ball knocked out of my hand plenty of times and the refs tell me that they didnt make contact with my arm or body so no foul. and i bet you to try and move the ball to a hash where the stick isnt and see what the ref says

We need to tell this to the refs, there was a play when our DE batted the ball and was called for roughing, the ref said it was because the ball was still in the QB`s hand.

"If the QB’s arm or body is contacted by a defender while his arm is in forward motion, its
roughing the passer. If the defender got “all ball” its not." - So the way I read this is if I am rushing and get to the QB (I usually don`t) and I go to hit the ball and I get all ball, regardless if he is in a passing motion, it is not a penalty?

i dont know if i know all but and miller your technically supposed to go for the flags so stick to pulling flags not knocking down the ball. but to answer your question no it shouldnt be a panalty. now if it were me i am gonna flop or something to draw a penalty aganist you. LOL

Swami with the throwback joke... I have to say what sense of modern style you have! Truly gorgeous tie, but the blazer... very nish nish.

I`m not going to call out a ref by name. But during our game against Next Level our DE knocked the ball down while it was in the air and was called for roughing the passer. When asked why we received a roughing the passer, we were told you couldn`t bat the ball down. there was a meeting between the ref`s and a lot of shaking heads but the call stood. Keep in mind the ball was over 3-feet from the QB when it was knocked down but from the ref`s PoV it appeared there could have been contact. The call was BS and instead of a turnover on downs resulted in a 1st and goal.

I know ref`s can`t get every call right all the time. But having them all clear on the rules would ease frustrations during games. That said, I`ve played over 20-seasons in 4 leagues and feel the ref`s in ours are by far the best at making the right calls.
