I realize this is an "A" division discussion, and much like my all-time favorite poster ARG, I don`t dabble in the WNBA or the C League as the competition levels are about the same, but I would be remiss if I didn`t at least give a nod to what I believe may be the best team name ever. The Fighting Unicorns. Not because it`s an ultra-cool or sheik name, or because they`re using a pansy sounding name to play up the irony of how tough they are, but simply because they are living up to the expectations of a C League team. C is for pansies (where the hell is Mutiny?) and the only way they could have named their team anything that implies pansy more is to have called themselves the Justin Bieber`s and worn Rainbow Brite t-shirts for uniforms. Well done ladies. Anyway, speaking of Bieber-fever, I know you ALL want to know where I`ve ranked Triple Crown this pre-season so let`s get to it!
1. 7 PT Spread - God, the fat jokes here are endless. Who weights more honestly? Grove or their QB? Either way, these guys are the reigning champions, and until someone knocks them off they deserve to stay in the #1 spot. I think the biggest concern for these guys is getting their key personnel to every game. They didn`t have their starting QB at the beginning of last Fall and it definitely hurt them, but they bounced back higher than Grove-burger on a trampoline and finished on top. 2. Collision - I`m so tired of making the Gump joke with these guys. They`re good, pure and simple. They played TC down to the 2 point conversion last year and they`re always in the mix for the top spot in any league they play in. 3. Triple Crown - Let`s see here. Nickleback is a 4 piece group. Lose three of those key pieces (DO, Locs and Dre) and what are you left with? A grown up version of Justin Bieber. Here`s the key question for the Crown this year. Can Jeremy Bieber`s arm backup Mike Nunn`s mouth? I mean, look, is Mike a nice athlete? Sure. Is he 4`2"? Almost. He might run past a lot of the coverages in this league, but who the hell can see him once he gets that far downfield? And with the losses of D.O., Locs and Dre there are a lot of holes this Spring. Sure, Locs being gone means Ocho-Homo can come back and play below average on both sides of the ball and Jeremy`s arm is like a middle-aged man driving an over-priced sports car, it compensates for a lack of talent elsewhere, but I have my doubts. 4. Spartans - Clearly the most TALENTED team in the league, but that doesn`t necessarily translate into `ships (see Nicklecrown Fall 2009-present). They`ve definitely brought a formidable lineup including D`Ohverated, Locs, D.O.`s brother (who I`ve been told is just nasssssty good), in addition to nabbing DJ from the Rejects, Will the dancing bear, Tyson and Staph at QB. I mean honestly, it`s a who`s who of messageboard all-stars! Here`s the #1 problem I see. DO said he`s got a lineman who`s 6`7" and Will is what, at least 6`2"? How in the HELL is Staph going to be able to read coverages behind those guys? I mean Christ, Manute Bol might be able to but Chucky`s going to have to take the snap 20 yards back just to see the linebackers! 5. Novacaine - I`m assuming Belle is bringing the same team back this year, and hopefully getting Cube back full time. If they do, they`ll be solid. Look for the Rams, I mean `caines, to possibly move up in the rankings if they get their boy Macho back (or maybe Percy Harvin if the NFL locks out) now that the Redskins (and the NFL) are done for a while. 6. Badboyz - Same old team, same old trick plays. They`ll get a few Ws here and there because they play hard and have some athletes, but they are way past being elite with the level of competition in this division. 7. Greyhounds - ONA (Ole Noodle Arm for the uninitiated) gets Dre back! Woohoo! It`s like rats deserting a sinking ship they way players are leaving TC. Only problem is Dre jumped in a dingy full of holes. H`Wood has always been a great DB, but as a QB he`s shaky at best. Everyone plays up and contain on him because he can`t hurl the rock far enough to command any respect. Woody`s feet and Dre`s speed will get them a few wins, but look for the Painhounds to be at the bottom of the league this year. 8. Rejects - Two seasons in a row these guys have picked up the league`s best new player (See Spring 2010: D.O. and Fall 2010: D.J.) and two seasons in a row they`ve lost said player to a cut-throat collection of free agents that would make the Yankees blush. The big question here isn`t where are they going to finish, but who are they going to pick up this season that will leave them in the Fall. 9. Banditos - These guys are solid, and are coming off a good showing at States, but the talent level this season will be too much for the robots. They still need to pick up an elite talent level guy at the WR spot and possibly at CB to really take it to the next level. 10. Kdaw Warriors - Geeze guys, A? Really? Look, change your name if you want, but you`re still the Hokies and you`ve never played at an A level. I guess you gotta make the jump sometime so I applaud you for trying, but you`re really going to take your lumps this season.

I think that Groove is bigger than their QB but got game when he gtes the rock! Hard to stop bigboy once he get to moving. Collision will win 5 games and lose in the first round of the playoffs. TC lost won game last year but they will lose atleast 2 or 3 this season and plus without D.O Locs they will turn into a better team on both sides of the ball. I thoughout Dre was still playing with TC? if not that makes them that much better 3ego`s gone. Locs team will win 6 games 3seed going into playoffs but will lose in the semi- like 7pts did last spring. NOVA will make it to the chapionship this springs its their season with CubeBoy back. Do not sleep on the Kdaw Warriors they fast and they can pull flags which is the most important thing. All the other team will play hard but will have a losing season. Thanks You Swami!

@Swami you a funny dude man but you right about getting lost on deep right. This was my first season with TC and timing between QB/WR is very improtnat in this league but it will be a lot better this season. I do feel if you wanna win Ego`s do play a role but it didn`t effect our play when we were on the field. We had so many weapons that it was hard to get everybody involved every game but we play every game with the attention to win and like D.O said it was our chemistry that got the best of us.

thanks for the support. but i agree with DO.. nobody had a ego problem on our squad. none of us complained about stats or anything like that. we just didnt play our best ball in a few games that hurt us. i think that was the best group of talent ive ever seen in this league. we just didnt win it all.. good luck to everybody.

With the addition of Magnums and Pens, here`s my revised rankings:
1) 7PTS - Still the champs, still #1 2) Magnums - Damn solid team with a ton of experience and `ships (A Spring 2010 and B States 08) to back it up. Look for them to smoke that Kat Williams looking Mike Nunn every chance they get when they run up against TC. 3) Pens - Don`t care what you say, a 2010 B State Championship is better than everyone else in this division (aside from Mags and TC`s run to the A Final Four several years back). Kung-Fu Panda and his QB Bernie Mac should do well this Spring and be in the mix for the ship at the end of the season.
Nothing else changes, slide everyone down accordingly. And don`t come to me *****ing about so and so`s team and the great athletes they have, blah blah blah. Theses two teams are State Champions. This is pre-season, things will change, but for right now they`ve earned the respect and deserve to be ranked as such.

Everyone in the picture plays for Pens. A couple guys will only play Sunday or weeknight though. Half the teams in B states got a bye. nobody was gonna beat them that weekend. 1 extra game or not. they just found ways to win in the end.
As for how they will do this season. I`d say theyre good enough to compete for a top 3 spot but they play close games so every mistake they make could cost them a game. they will probably finished 4th or 5th.

Lol I do have a login but I got a new computer at work (only time I hit the boards) Have to get Tom to reset it. Either way I`ll have to check with the captains ( Cody and Chaz) to see if I`m allowed to speak on it. I`ll just say a very good all around player and one who addresses our biggest weakness. Either way I hav as much respect for D.O and locs but one thing I learned playing in this league is that it`s not all about having the strongest and most athletic players (notice I didn`t say talent) cause that`s a loosely used term, much like when yall say some has great hands. But chemistry matters as much in this league as anything. Until the Spartans not the guys that make up the Spartans win some games we can`t crown them as a top tier team. No diss just wanna see what they do as a team before we crown them.
